Amy S. Turner Joins the Georgia Healthy Family Alliance as Director of Philanthropy

The Georgia Healthy Family Alliance (GHFA) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Amy S. Turner has been named the Director of Philanthropy. This new position will support the “Your Giving is Great Medicine” five-year capital campaign aimed at expanding the reach and funding of the Community Health Grant program and Tar Wars in communities where Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP) members live and serve.

Amy comes to GHFA from U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson’s office where she served as both a Field Representative and Regional Director for the twenty-seven county Northeast Georgia region since 2009.

A native of Newnan, Amy is a graduate of Auburn University and earned a Masters’ Degree in Public Administration from Kennesaw State University in 2012. In her free time, Amy volunteers for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, St. Jude Children’s Hospital “Heels for Hope” and the Junior League of Atlanta.

The “Your Giving is Great Medicine” capital campaign seeks to further the organizational capacity of the Alliance by securing funding from the health care community at large, foundations, and businesses to increase the number of Community Health Grants and Tar Wars presentations in the years ahead.

We hope you will join us in our efforts to sustain the long-term capacity of GHFA programs. To learn more, Amy can be reached via email at aturner@gafp.org or by calling 404-321-7445.

Founded in 1987, the Georgia Healthy Family Alliance, formerly known as the Foundation of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP), is the philanthropic arm of the GAFP and a charitable public foundation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
