If You Do Developmental Screening – You Need to Bill for It!

Physicians are paid for doing Developmental Screenings now – it’s NOT bundled into the overall well child check visit.  This can generate additional revenue and did not reduce the reimbursement for the regular well child check.  Please see below:

A Developmental Screening should be performed at the following periodic visits: 9, 18, and 30 months. Providers must bill code 96110 with the EP modifier and the appropriate ICD-9 diagnosis code – V20.2 or V70.3 – in order to receive reimbursement for this screening ($11.77).
