The Georgia Healthy Family Alliance and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians Education and Research Committee are pleased to announce the George W. Shannon Family Medicine Leadership Lecture Series in honor of GAFP Past President Dr. George Shannon who is retiring from his Columbus based medical practice.
The lecture series will kick off with a keynote CME address from Dr. Shannon at the GAFP 2015 Summer Meeting in Sandestin, FL and will continue at the GAFP Scientific Assembly in November 2015.
The George W. Shannon Family Medicine Leadership Lecture Series is being made possible through generous donations from fellow GAFP colleagues, former residents, students and patients as well as an initial contribution from Horizons Diagnostics, the multi-specialty practice Dr. Shannon co-founded in Columbus, Georgia and colleagues from the Columbus medical community.
Tax deductible donations in honor of Dr. Shannon’s retirement to support the lecture series can be made to the Georgia Healthy Family Alliance. The Alliance will serve as the fiscal administrator of funds raised in honor of Dr. Shannon’s leadership and service over the years.
