GHFA Awarded Grant from Molina Healthcare To Fund Rural Assistance Grants Across Georgia

Molina Healthcare recently awarded the Georgia Healthy Family Alliance – the philanthropic arm of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians – a $75,000 grant to provide Rural Assistance Grants to underserved communities across Georgia. The grant was made in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Jason Dees (C), Chief Medical Officer of Molina Healthcare presented the grant award to Georgia Family Physician Dr. Alice House (2R), Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs at Mercer University School of Medicine in Columbus. Also in attendance from Molina Healthcare was VP of Growth Strategy Carolyn Gollub (R) as well as Associate Vice President Chris Heldman (L) and Community Engagement Manager Nicole Borreli (2L).

Following the check presentation, a dinner was held at Mabella’s Restaurant in downtown Columbus where State Representative Carolyn Hughley joined local family physicians, Molina staff, and other community leaders including Dr. Sarah Barr, Medical Director of MercyMed Clinic in Columbus, Dr. Beulette Hooks, Dr. John Bucholtz, Dr. Dan Singleton, Dr. Vibhuti Ansar, Mercer Medical Students Josh Fertig, Menal Joshi and others.
