Join the Fun in 2015 – Volunteer for a GAFP Committee

All GAFP members should have received this information previously via email. Note that the deadline was extended slightly, but spots are rapidly being filled!

The Georgia Academy is looking for your knowledge and expertise to help us advocate for our profession and our patients.  Please nominate yourself by completing the fields below and submitting them by email to no later than January 12th to be considered for an appointment for 2015.

GAFP President Dr. Wayne Hoffman is seeking members to volunteer for a GAFP committee for a one-year term for 2015. Committee membership will be held to no more than 15 members. For most committees, this will include one slot for a resident and a medical student. The expectation is that each member selected for a committee will have the ability to 1) attend the three committee conclave meetings, 2) respond to emails, and 3) review committee materials and be ready to offer advice and guidance.

The time commitment is the ability to review emails on a frequent basis as well as attend all three committee meetings (either in person or by phone).

In 2015 – these meetings will take place:

Saturday, March 7, 2015 – Jekyll Island Club Hotel
Thursday, June 18, 2015 – Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort (Destin, FL)
Saturday, August 22, 2015 – Chateau Elan (Braselton)

There will also be Working Groups that will be larger groups that meet for a shorter time period to assist in Georgia Academy programs.

Following is a list of the opportunities for service. We encourage your interest and participation as this is certainly an important and pivotal time for family medicine. We are only as strong as the commitment and involvement of our members.
