Richard Pierzchajlo MD, FAAFP of Tifton is advancing the physician workforce the old-fashioned way – growing them himself. Two of his sons are medical students and are current members of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.

Casey Henritz, DO was recently selected to the 2023 Health Equity Activism and Reflection Training (HEART) through People Power Health (a national group committed to bringing practices of activism and community organizing to health professionals nationwide).

GAFP Speaker, Monica Newton, DO, FAAFP, of Gainesville, was recently selected as the Georgia Academy’s participant in the Medical Association of Georgia’s Physician Leadership Academy for 2023-2024. Congratulations! She also recently was awarded the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Community Impact Award of Excellence. GAFP’s Executive Vice President, Fay Fulton, of Atlanta, has been selected to serve as the Chapter Representative to the AAFP’s National Research Network Advisory Group. She will join Ambar Kulshrestha, MD, PhD, who also serves on this important primary care research group.
