Tar Wars Represents GHFA at GAHPERD Convention

The Georgia Academy of Family Physician’s (GAFP) Georgia Healthy Family Alliance (GHFA) Tar Wars program was represented at the Georgia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Convention in Athens on November 13-15 at The Classic Center. More than 200 educators were in attendance representing many different organizations across the state.

GHFA connected with dozens of leaders at the Tar Wars information booth, providing program brochures and other materials to educate attendees on the dangers of nicotine, tobacco and vape use, and how Tar Wars can partner with them to educate their students. GHFA also presented important and timely information during the breakout session, “Stop Vaping Before It Starts with The Tar Wars Program.”

GHFA leaders are excited about the connections that were made at the convention and look forward to partnering with schools across the state in 2023 to help keep Georgia students healthy and vape-free.
