Tar Wars: On Track for a BIG Red Ribbon Week!

By Abbey Carr, Statewide Manager, Tar Wars Education

October is always a very busy month. College Football. Halloween. Red Ribbon Week.

So, what exactly is Red Ribbon Week?

Red Ribbon Week is held each year from October 23 to October 31. It’s the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign in the country, targeting K-12 students. Schools participate in a variety of ways, like hosting special speakers, throwing contests, decorating school campuses, and more.

The last few weeks, we have been working diligently with 55 schools across Georgia to make sure they are trained, equipped and ready with Tar Wars materials and resources to educate more than 13,000 students on the dangers of tobacco, nicotine and vape use this Red Ribbon Week.

We are honored to be a resource and excited about the partnerships that we are forming with educators and organizations across the state! Keeping Georgia students healthy is our mission, and we would love for you to join us.
