The Georgia Residency Collaborative brings together all 18 family medicine residency programs across the state—plus two military programs—with one goal: to build a stronger, more connected future for family medicine in Georgia.

Launched in 2023, the collaborative creates space for programs to share knowledge, grow professionally, and lead change on the issues that matter most. Its first statewide focus? Tackling Georgia’s high maternal mortality rate through shared research, training, and community efforts.

What We Do

The Residency Collaborative exists to empower family medicine residency programs with tools, community, and shared purpose. Current efforts focus on improving maternal health outcomes, but our foundation is built to evolve with the needs of family medicine.

Key activities include:

  • Sharing best practices and resources across programs

  • Collaborating on educational and research initiatives, particularly around maternal health

  • Supporting faculty development and leadership

  • Building community and identity among family medicine residents and programs
