Facilitate connections that promote collaboration, mentorship, and professional belonging.
We do this through:
District - Review and organize districts to engage members in-person or virtually. Provide support through speakers, training, and practice enhancement tools, etc.
Communications - Establish venues that provide members with timely and accurate information.
Collaboratives - Form collaboratives with students, residents, family physicians, and allied professionals to address practice-level and statewide challenges.
Leadership Development- Create pathways for leadership through service, education, and legislation.
Public - Improve the public awareness of The Specialty of Family Medicine Physicians.

Advocate for the interests of family medicine.
We do this through:
Shaping Policy - Serve as a trusted and reliable source of information for policymakers and family physicians.
Grassroots - Connect family physicians with their local legislators to keep them informed on key policy issues.
PAC - Champion family medicine interests by increasing member participation in the GAFP PAC.
Workforce Initiatives - Address Georgia’s workforce needs by attracting and retaining family physicians to ensure the continued delivery of quality care.

Lead impactful initiatives that serve the community, members, and the Academy.
We do this through:
Communities - Deliver programs and services that benefit communities through Georgia Healthy Family Alliance (community grants, immediate needs, Escaping Vaping®, Women in Philanthropy) and Public Health initiatives.
Members - Develop and deliver relevant programs to benefit members through mentoring, scholarships, physician wellness, and disaster relief funds.
Academy - Identify and cultivate opportunities for GAFP leaders including board members, committees, and task forces to serve on external organizations, boards, and commissions.

Provide education that supports practice excellence and lifelong learning.
We do this through:
Clinical Education - Deliver exceptional educational experiences that support family physicians across their careers.
Students and Residents - Inspire and engage early career learners with high-impact learning opportunities in family medicine.
Practice Success - Equip family physicians with the skills and connections to lead, advocate, and serve.
Multidisciplinary - Identify opportunities to provide education for allied professions (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, etc.)

Ensure the sustainability of the leadership and resources.
We do this through:
Governance - Maintain efficient governing processes, reviewing Academy structure documents.
Finances - Diversify, maximize, and protect sustainable revenue sources.
Talent - Support, train, and make best use of the volunteer leadership and professional staff.
Growth - Maintain a strong position to drive growth in membership, PAC engagement, philanthropic initiatives, and other strategic opportunities.
