The deadline to submit abstracts for GAFP’s Annual Research Poster Presentation & Competition is Wednesday, September 6. The posters will be on display on Friday, November 10 and the winning poster authors will present their work that afternoon on the CME main stage during GAFP’s Annual Family Medicine CME Weekend at The Hotel at Avalon located in Alpharetta, GA.
GAFP’s research poster presentation competition rules and guidelines:
- Every GAFP member (students, residents, and active physicians) and pre-medical students (including those from AHEC programs) are eligible. All submitted abstracts will be accepted.
- Submissions can address research results, case reports, summer projects, or educational projects. Posters can address any topic that is related to family medicine.
- Submissions must address original and completed work that has not been published or presented at a regional or national meeting. Concurrent (2022) submissions to other conferences like the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG) or the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) are encouraged.
- Medical student projects that have been presented at medical schools or during student “research days” will be accepted.
In order to take part in the competition, participants must complete the online abstract submission form. All abstracts will be accepted and details about the next steps will be shared after abstract submission. Please note judging will take place in advance of the meeting and the winners will be notified so preparations can begin for the CME presentation. All other participants are requested to display their posters onsite and defend their work in our social & information hub.
For more details on the process, please review the 2023 Annual Research Poster Presentation & Competition Instructions.
