GAFP’S 2023 Congress of Delegates: Call for Resolutions, Virtual Office Hours

The Georgia Academy of Family Physicians is seeking resolutions for the 2023 Congress of Delegates (COD) meeting. Last year, the COD tackled issues such as unfair non-compete contract practices,  prior authorization, advocacy education for residents, and strengthening our policy to support our colleagues who practice full scope, including obstetrics.

What is the Congress of Delegates, you ask? The GAFP Congress of Delegates is a governing body of the Academy that can set policy. It meets annually at the GAFP Annual Meeting to vote on and ratify decisions that are made by the Board all year, as well as to hear and vote on resolutions from all members.

We are soliciting your ideas and leadership in proposing resolutions for this year’s Congress of Delegates, the first session will be a virtual webinar in October and the final session will meet on Sunday, November 12 in conjunction with the Annual Meeting held at the Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta.

Staff and Speaker Monica Newton, DO and Vice Speaker Ellie Daniels, MD are available to assist you and will hold virtual office hours on Tuesday, August 22 from 5 until 6 p.m. here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/9470580734. Contact Alesa McArthur at amcarthur@gafp.org or 404-321-7445. You can submit your resolution online below or fill out the PDF at https://gafp.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Call-for-Resolutions-2023_Fillable-word-doc.pdf.

The deadline to submit resolutions is Monday, September 11.
