GAFP Launching 2015 Advocacy Meetings – Columbus, Albany and Savannah

The Georgia Academy of Family Physicians is inviting state representatives and senators to join members for dinner to discuss issues about health care and advocacy.  The upcoming events are listed below:

  • Columbus – Tuesday, August 18 – Chattahoochee River Club
  • Albany – Wednesday, September 16 – Merry Acres Event Center
  • Savannah – October TBD

The Georgia Academy is trying to expand its advocacy initiatives and believes the first step is connecting local family physicians with their legislators.  The intent is to break bread with our hard working legislators for some vibrant group discussions on health care in Georgia and how we can be a resource to them throughout the year.

As all politics is ‘local’ so is healthcare.  In the coming legislative session, the legislature will be called to debate many issues that will impact the citizens of Georgia who are their constituents as well as our patients. This program is continuing our previous successful advocacy dinners that we have held in Duluth, Valdosta, Macon, Rome and Gainesville.  For more information, contact Fay Fulton (ffulton@gafp.org).
